Organisation profile

The Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (DIFFER) is a research institute of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research NWO and is located at the campus of the Technical University of Eindhoven. The Mission of DIFFER is to perform leading fundamental research on materials, processes and systems for a global sustainable energy infrastructure in close partnership with Academia and Industry. The DIFFER programme contains two programme lines: Fusion and Solar Fuels. Both are designed to meet the challenging EU CO2 emission reduction targets by developing CO2 neutral energy technology solutions through basic, cross-disciplinary research. The Institute has a staff complement of about 140 FTE and houses state of the art infrastructure.

Role and contribution in KEROGREEN

In addition to the overall project coordination, DIFFER is responsible for the development of the microwave plasma reactor to split CO2, plasma modelling and perovskite plasma membrane interaction experiments and modelling and tests of the integrated CO2 plasmolysis – O2 separator assembly.
